Real Bride: Daisy

With a six-month-old baby and a clear sense of her own style, Daisy came to Lily Rou wanting something personal. She loved a little sparkle, but wanted it to feel effortless rather than overly traditional. Together, we created a dress around exactly that.

A classic silk slip, made entirely hers

We started with the foundation of a classic silk slip dress, custom-made to Daisy's fit. Over this, we chose a beautiful beaded lace and moulded it to her body, creating a delicate layer of shimmering texture over the silk.

The lace was hand sewn down the delicate vines so that there were no visible seams, giving the finished dress a beautifully considered, almost second-skin quality. Every detail was designed around Daisy rather than the other way around.

Comfort and support were just as important. We sewed in Daisy's favourite bra, giving her the support she needed without compromising the line or feel of the dress. The result was a gown she could move, hug, hold her baby and dance in — without ever feeling restricted.

Personal details, from ceremony to dance floor

The dress was designed to transition seamlessly from ceremony to dance floor, with buttons running down the back for an extra considered detail. Daisy wore heels for the day, then changed into Adidas trainers for the night — dancing into the evening as the beaded lace caught the light with every move.

Silk Bridesmaids Dresses

The bridesmaid dresses were made in a neutral sandwashed silk, with both bridesmaids choosing the style they wanted to feel most herself in. The soft, understated palette brought everyone together while allowing the individual dresses to feel personal.

Mother of the Bride

For Daisy's mum, we created a silk slip with a matching silk jacket. She knew she wanted feathers, so we added a feather trim to the hem of the dress and around the arms of the jacket, all in a complementary colour palette to the bridesmaids.

A countryside wedding, made personal

The setting was just as relaxed and personal as the clothes: a countryside church followed by a celebration at Warborne Farm in the New Forest.

From the first fitting to the final dance, the whole bridal party was created around the people wearing it. Daisy's dress was classic at its core, but the hand-finished beaded lace, considered construction and very Daisy choice of trainers made it completely her own.
